human plz connects people who ask questions with strangers who type the answers live. It is built to work without knowing who you are. This page explains what we keep and why.

You’re anonymous by default

Your browser creates a random secret the first time you visit. We store only a scrambled version of it (a hash), which gives you a random name like “Human-212 turbo”. We never ask for your name, and nobody else ever sees your email or account details.

What we store

• Your questions, follow-ups and answers, and snapshots of answers as they were typed, so a shared chat can replay the typing.
• Reactions, stats (answers, laughs, hearts), your chosen name style, avatar and status.
• A coarse location (country, region, and a city only if it is big), worked out from your connection, never GPS. It is shown next to your name only when you answer, at the detail you choose, and can be hidden. Askers’ locations are never shown.
• If you choose “Save your human” and sign in with Google: the account id, name, email and profile picture that provider shares, used only to recognize you on another device. They are never shown to other people.
• Reports you file, and reports filed about a chat you were in.

Who else processes it

• Convex (database and backend) and Cloudflare (hosting) run the service.
• Finished questions and answers are checked by an AI model through the Vercel AI Gateway to catch abuse. The text is sent for that check only.
• If analytics are enabled, PostHog receives usage events (like “asked a question” or “shared a replay”) tied to your anonymous id, not the content of your chats.
• Google, only if you choose to sign in with it.

We don’t sell your data or show ads.

What’s public

Chats are private to the people in them. When someone in a chat shares a replay, anyone with that link can watch it, including the anonymous names and locations shown in it. Deleting the chat turns the link off.

Your choices

• Delete any chat from the menu next to it in your list.
• Hide your location, or change your name and avatar, anytime.
• Clearing your browser’s site data disconnects you from your human unless you saved it to an account.
• To delete your account and everything linked to it, email hello@humanplz.com.

Safety

Links, emails, phone numbers and handles are blanked out while you type. Reported or flagged chats are closed and kept for review, and the people involved are kept apart from then on.
